Thomas was born and raised in Union City, Tennessee. The youngest of three brothers and born into a family of grain and cotton farmers, he experienced the delight of living and working in a rural community. Thomas attended the University of Tennessee where he studied accounting and finance, and was the president of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. He graduated from UT in 2021.
Thomas met his beautiful wife, Virginia Claire Walker Barnes, in Birmingham, Alabama – where they attended school at Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law – in the summer of 2021. They were married the following year, in August 2022. Then, in February of 2024, their first child Walker Thomas was born.
After graduating and passing the Bar Exam, Thomas and his family have moved to Cordele and joined the team at Lawson & Reid, LLC. He is beyond excited to join and engage with the greater Cordele community, and serve those around him. Upon Virginia Claire passing the July Bar Exam, she will be joining the Crisp County District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney.
Thomas is an eager, straight-shooting, and conscientious advocate for his clients in achieving the best and most efficient results for them, regardless of whether that be in the courtroom, in the board room, or in the conference room—or anywhere in between.
