Born in Warner Robins, Georgia, Rick spent his formative years in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Atlanta. After graduating from Georgia Tech with an Industrial Engineering degree, he received his J.D. with honors from the Rutgers School of Law - Newark. Rick practiced law in New York City, Atlanta, and Albany, Georgia, before settling with his family in Crisp County. He now specializes in residential, commercial, and agricultural real estate transactions, business law, foreclosures, general civil litigation, and estate planning and probate. He also has been the County Attorney for Crisp County since 2008.

Rick is a member of the State Bar of Georgia as well as the Cordele Rotary Club. He volunteers with the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce, as a coach for youth soccer, basketball and softball, as a children's Sunday school teacher at his church, and with various school-related booster clubs and the local 4H program. When he is not working, Rick spends time with his wife, Dale, a native of Dooly County, and their two daughters, Morgan and Jordan. He also enjoys boating, golfing, reading, and hunting.
